Biscardi from 2008

Everyone’s favorite Bigfoot fall guy, Tom Biscardi, has been investigating a bigfoot sighting in Paoli, Indiana. Paoli is a small town in southern Indiana with a population of about 4000.

Biscardi is there looking into reports of a bigfoot sighting from December 9th and 10th. A gentleman named Steve Bradley saw a nine foot creature standing in his backyard after his dogs alerted him. The creature let out a growl and took off into the woods. The next night, Bradley’s wife reported hearing unidentified animal screaming coming from right besides the house.

Biscardi is often criticized by bigfoot skeptics and fans alike, but has recently gotten a little slack in the blogosphere.

I stand by my theory that Biscardi was the ‘victim’ of the 2008 RickMat Bigfoot Media Circus.

His new book, The Discovery of the Sasquatch: Reconciling Culture, History, and Science in the Discovery Process discusses the scientific community’s attitude towards his research and as well big foot its self, chronicling the long history of reported sightings, dating back to the 1800s and even before.

His previous book, published in 1998, North America’s Great Ape: the Sasquatch, approached sasquatch from a very ‘nuts and bolts’ angle, suggesting that big foot was simple an undiscovered species. This was not welcome by the scientific community and Bindernagel found himself shunned by his colleagues.

“In my first book, I described the anatomy and behaviour of Sasquatch. And there was no scientific discussion of that book at all. After about three years, I realized…the problem is I had described the anatomy and behaviour of an animal not yet discovered.”

While taking a ‘nuts and bolts’ approach, maybe its Bindernagel’s mention of the paranormal that has turned off his colleagues. In this article, The Sasquatch: An Unwelcome and Premature Zoological Discovery?, Bindernagel nails it on the head.

An inevitable result of the sasquatch being ignored by scientists and explained
instead by non-scientists is the raising of wildly conjectural explanations as
serious proposals. Such explanations occasionally include associations with
UFOs, visitors from another dimension, and ‘shape-shifters’. The tabloid and
mainstream media have exploited these more bizarre explanations to further
increase an atmosphere of levity and ridicule around the subject. As a result,
scientists have (understandably) distanced themselves even further

While its easy to blame the media for its treatment of the paranormal, I would venture to throw it back on the scientific community to not shun a fellow scientist for researching ‘out of the box’ a bit.

Creature looks… well it looks like every other low budget monster flick from the past 30 years. I see pretty girls, I see spooky nature shots, I see monsters in the woods/swamps, but for some reason, Andrews tries to convince us it isn’t like every other monster movie.

But there was a problem. Horror has, in my opinion and with the rare exception, lost a lot of what attracted me to it in the first place. It has become formulaic and predictable. Even the ‘twist within a twist’ plot lines have felt stale to me for years and most offer little in the way of true surprise.

And I don’t think I need to mention the abundance of remakes fans have been subjected too over the past few years. I can name but a handful of films in the past 10 years that gave me that feeling I had when I was a kid; when horror was fresh, new, and altogether unsettling.

The ‘Creature’ is named Lockjaw, and looks a bit like Frank from Donnie Darko with out the ears. From Andrews’ blog describing the film, it does sound like he tried to work some crypto goodness into the film, but it sounds like it comes off as just a sasquatchploitation film with scales. Remember the new Boggy Creek Creature Movie? Well they weren’t even able to keep the domain name they bought to promote the film. Ouch.

It is playing at my local theater and honestly… I’m a bit tempted to go see it.

The most notable actor in Creature is horror film stalwart Sid Haig, mostly known for playing Captain Spaulding in the movies House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Sadly, Haig basically just plays a dumbed down version of Spaulding and sadly his is extremely underutilized because he’s the best thing in the movie. The “creature”, if you will, is not a computer generated image but is merely someone wearing a costume; similar to the way it was done back in the “good old days.” Regrettably the comparison to the “good old days” stops there. Yes, there’s the nudity, and quite a bit more than the standard gratuitous, there’s pot smoking and drunkenness; but, the shock factor is lacking. The kill scenes, if you will, show very little gore…if any at all. The characters are underdeveloped, giving you no one to relate to or to root for. The witty humor is dull and the dialogue isn’t much better. There really isn’t much that actually works.

Over the past couple years, so many great Bigfoot stories have come from the Willamette National Forest and in particular the Oakridge, Oregon area. All one has to do is look at the amount of reports in and around the HWY 58 and HWY 19 and soon even the novice will notice a spike in activity. Aside from all that, it is a beautiful part of Oregon and now it offers a new home for the followers of BIGFOOT & BEER.

I guess they do, as a friend recently sent me a link to a bigfoot book he recommended I read, and it was originally in French.

We previously had a posted title ‘Jesus Confirms Bigfoot’s Hybrid Origin from July of 2010, where the posted claimed to have knowledge of the origins of bigfoot.

Well, now we have more information.

Several thousand years ago there were thousands of slaves that ran off around the world and started their own countries. When these slaves ran off there was a large group of men and boys that took off and ended up in Africa. Some of them were giants as tall as 9 ft. or even taller. The giant named Goliath that David killed with his slingshot was 9 ft. tall. Some of these men and boys went exploring to Borneo and used ropes to catch female orangutans and took them to South America. They had sex with them and eventually created the Indians. The men and boys that stayed in Africa used ropes to catch female gorillas and had sex with them and eventually created the Africans. When scientists found the bones in Africa they thought we evolved naturally from a female chimpanzee. But it wasn’t a natural evolution it was a man made evolution. That’s where all the Bigfoot and Orangutan creatures come from. They are half man and half gorilla and half man and half orangutan. They use to call the Indians the red man. The orangutan has reddish hair. When those men bred out the hair the Indian’s skin remained red. The gorilla has black hair and skin. When those men bred out the hair the African’s skin remained black. Some of the Indians and Africans are tall and some of the Bigfoot and Orangutan creatures are tall. The North American Science Institute said that the creature in the Patterson-Gimlin film had both human and gorilla features. That’s because it is a human-gorilla hybrid. In the 1920′s some scientists in Orange Florida created a human-primate hybrid. One of the aging scientists told a student that they did create a human-primate hybrid. After a few days they destroyed it. The creature that Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed in 1967 was half man and half gorilla. Believe it or not, man created his own evolution. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

Two hikers near Spokane Washington have release a small bit of camera phone video that appears to show a bigfoot moving across the upper part of the screen.

The footage was captured near a trail in Downriver Park in Spokane, Washington.

I was a little surprise to see so few Bigfoot sightings in Spokane County when I looked it up on BFRO.

Downriver Park is on the West Side of the city, relatively close to a fairly populated area.
