Reports are that multiple witnesses saw a fifteen foot snake crossing U.S. 54 in Pike County in Eastern Missouri, at 4:30 am in the morning.

The giant snake stopped traffic as two cars going opposite directions waited for the creature to cross the road.

Sheriff Paul Petty says no one has seen the snake since and no one is reporting one missing.

“This is the first time I’ve heard of this,” Petty said. “You’d think a snake of that size would have been seen prior but we’ve never had a report. Generally speaking, snakes of that size are reared in captivity first.”

A giant snake, much like the one seen in Pike County, eats Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez is powerless to stop it

A comment on the www.myjournalcourier.com report claims the snake has been seen before, that time near the Youth Detention Center on the west side of Pittsfield, Illinois, about 30 miles north east. I am unable to confirm this report.

If it is in fact the same giant snake, it would have had to cross the Mississippi River to have been at both locations. Between the two sightings, is the Ted Shanks State Wildlife Management Area, over 6,705 acres of swamp and woods, bordered for nine miles by the Mississippi River.

Could a 15 foot snake live in the Missouri wetlands and have only recently ventured out?

Something odd is up with the UVB-76 Buzzer, a mysterious 10 kW short wave radio transmitter that has been transmitting a buzzing sound at 4625 kHz since 1982 from outside Povarovo Russia.

Multiple voice transmissions and odd activity has been reported in the past several days.

The mysterious signal is speculated to be either some sort of military signal or possibly a High-frequency Doppler method for ionosphere research that would be looking for changes of an ionosphere state can be caused by solar geophysical or seismic events.

Occasionally, the internet gets all excited about the UVB-76 Buzzer when the rumor goes out that it has stopped broadcasting, as happened in June of this year, but a voice signal from the transmitter is something special, with only 4 or 5 reports of this happening since it was first detected in 1982.

The recorded vocal transmission isn’t the only odd thing to have been reported in August of 2010.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UVB-76 lists quite the activity this month.

* On August 20, 2010 at 05:11 UTC, a garbled voice speaking Russian, was detected by amateur listeners. It made a short message with little interference and then repeated itself with noticeably more static. This followed recent activity on the station that included more static than usual and several instances of objects being moved/dropped. All of this was detected by amateur listeners and is unconfirmed at the moment.

* On August 23, 2010 at 13:35 UTC, a voice speaking in Russian was detected. The voice read out a single, short transmission several times before the line went dead, then returned to its normal broadcast. As the message was transmitted on upper side-band, reception with ordinary AM receivers was weak and distorted.
o The message, repeated twice, was: UVB-76, UVB-76 — 93 882 naimina 74 14 35 74 — 9 3 8 8 2 nikolai, anna, ivan, michail, ivan, nikolai, anna, 7, 4, 1, 4, 3, 5, 7, 4[11]

* On August 24, 2010 at approximately 04:00 UTC, a heavily distorted voice was heard by amateur listeners.

* On August 24, 2010 at 13:25 UTC, another heavily distorted voice was detected by several amateur listeners.

* On August 24, 2010 at 17:43 UTC, Hard to hear voices were heard over the transmission.

* On August 24, 2010 at around 03:30 UTC, distorted voices in addition to fast beeps and pulses were heard.

* On August 25, 2010 around 06:13 UTC, Random knocks or shuffles as if someone is in the room, changes in tone randomly.

* On August 25, 2010 at 06:45 UTC, A grumble or garbled sound appeared out of nowhere for 389 ms.

* On August 25, 2010 at 06:54 UTC, Another transmission occurred. (Recording of the fifth voice transmission) A new sequence/pattern with a chirping/crank noise occured on top of the previous buzzer. At times this new noise made the old buzzing noise barely audible. The message content was: “UVB-76. UVB-76. 38, 527. Akkreciya. 36, 09, 55, 73.”.

* On August 25, 2010 at 18:07 UTC, Morse code could be heard behind the buzzer signal. It lasted until approximately 18:20 UTC. At approximately 18:08 UTC A tone was heard in the background followed by a short message.

So what is up that would spark this amazing spike of activity from the UVB-76 buzzer?

The 1980 movie ‘Alligator’ told the story of a giant mutant alligator that was flushed down the toilet into the sewers of Chicago, where it ate dead pets that had be medically tested on and grew to a enormous size, busting out of the sewers and terrorizing the people of the Windy City.

This story dates back to the 1930s and sometimes involves albino mutants ‘gators living in the sewers, often under New York City, and usually dismissed as an urban legend.

So whats up with a recent rash of alligators being found under a car in New York City, swimming in the Chicago River, and a third one roaming the streets of Brockton Massachusetts.

All are less than three feet long, but still… what they hell.

More orange balls seen over Walton area in Peterborough last evening 22/08/10. Lighting up the sky and moving off towards the east at very high speed. Returned at least four times, only to shoot off again. Several family members witnessed this. Certainly not street lamp reflections, lazers, helicopters, chinese laterns, hot air balloon burners, aircraft lights, fuel dumping, afterburners etc. These were like mini suns and quick. Orange balls have been reported around this area for many many years, be interested to hear if anybody has a plausible explanation. The marsh gas & weather balloon apologists need not reply !

Ozzfest is music festival tour featuring performances by many heavy metal and hard rock musical groups. It was founded by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon Osbourne. The Ozzfest tour has featured bands of a variety of genres within heavy metal and hard rock, including alternative metal, thrash metal, industrial metal, metalcore, hardcore punk, nu metal, death metal, gothic metal and black metal. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath have played the tour several times over the years.

The UFO was described as:
“… a pale gray. The middle looking on edgewise was slightly rounded and thicker in the middle, which held three round lights in a line strobe-like. Colors were green, yellow and pinkish purple. The lights were like a strobe that blinked and flashed 3-5 times before it disappeared behind a tree that it fit behind.”

Its not the first time UFOs and Ozzfest have met up. The Tinley Park UFO Night of OzzFest Concert – 2004 was widely reported and has been featured on The History Channel’s UFO Hunters.

First thought to be a turtle, photographs reveal something that is too long to be anything normally found in those waters.

The creature appears to be a greenish-brown beast with the reptile-like head is far too long for it to be a turtle.

Fish in the area were said to have beached themselves to escape the mysterious creature, very strange behavior for sure.

Saltern Cove, Paignton is about 200 miles south west of London on the southern coast of England on Tor Bay.

Since July 3rd of this year, we have had so many reports of unidentified orange balls of light (we like to call them ORBLs) that we’ve lost track.
Actually, dating back to July 4rd 2009 over Bethlehem Pennsylvania.

Many have been left in the comments

Just saw the exact same thing about an hour ago here in Sioux Falls, SD. Witnessed about 12 light, no more than 3 at a time. They rose brightly from my E-NE, moved in a westerly direction and then diminished as if they were moving away from me towards the north. This went on for 20 minutes after i first noticed them.

Others come in on the Whales In Space contact form

Last night 01/08/10 my husband and i aw 3 bright orange lights over Langdon
Hills in Basildon. They all came individually from north west in staight
line to north one at a time faded then dissapeared at exactly the same
spot. was cloudy no sound. about 9.30pm

From Beatrice Nebraska, Prairielle, Louisiana, and Warrens, Wisconsin.

We’ve discussed the possible explanation of Chinese Lanterns, and while some of these objects may have been airborne lanterns, there is no way that all these objects, from around the US and England, are all Chinese lanterns. It has also been suggested that the ORBL were nothing more than the international space station and other satellites, but some of the formations and behaviors of the objects seen don’t match the set flight paths of passing satellites (it was nice of NASA to offer that explanation).

And what do I think they are? I don’t know. I’m still pushing the giant flying bioluminescent dinosaurs theory, but even that doesn’t match all the descriptions.

An unnamed British scientist, who’s grandfather was one of Sir Winston Churchill’s bodyguards, has requested more information concerning the claims that Churchill asked for a cover up of UFO activity in fear that “mass panic” would result from the information becoming public, as recounted in declassified Ministry of Defence UFO files made available online by the National Archives.

The document describes how his grandfather, who served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the war, was present when Churchill and U.S. General Dwight Eisenhower discussed how to deal with a UFO encounter that took place near the English coastline at the end of World War Two.

This story was covered on both sides of the pond, by both FoxNews and MailOnline, as well as many other news sources.

On several occasions, the British The National Archives have released large numbers of previously classified documents detailing UFO activity by the British Government and Military.
